Frequently Asked Questions
Does my dog have to be socialized?
Guests at our mini-farm need to be dog AND people friendly. If your dogs don't do well others, you may choose our private boarding option based on availability. No dogs with a history or biting humans will be accepted. No exceptions.

For care in your own home, socialization with other dogs is not required, but all dogs must be people friendly.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Dogs staying at our home must be current on vaccinations, including Rabies, and DHPP (Distemper, Adenovirus/Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza). Although Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination is not required, it is strongly recommended. Please note that your dog is at increased risk of contracting Kennel Cough if unvaccinated.
What time do you want my dog dropped off?
For boarding, I accept scheduled drop-offs as early as 6:30 AM as late as 7:00 PM. Later drop-offs do not give your dog adequate time to settle in and can lead to bedtime anxiety. If you need an exception, please contact me. Extended care rates may apply for each pet on the booking if the end time on the final day of the stay is more than 2 hours later than the start time on the first day of the stay.
Are there any breeds that you don't accept?
I have cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes. If your dog passes my temperament assessment, they are welcome. If your dog develops problems with other dog guests or family members over time, I will contact you.
Where will my dog sleep while staying at your home?
We provide a variety of bedding options. Dogs may use one of our dogs beds or blankets or bring one from home. We have wire crates available for dogs that prefer a cave-like setting or that need to be confined when unattended. Some small dogs are allowed to sleep in our beds, if that is something they are accustomed to at home. While most dogs sleep in the living room, an anxious dog will occasionally be allowed to sleep on the floor in the master bedroom.
Will my dog play and exercise while in your care?
Of course! I believe that a tired pup is a happy and manageable pup. During our day, we take multiple opportunities to run and play in the fenced dog area, play fetch, explore the farm, or walk the trails on the 80-acres down the street, as the weather allows.
